Wi Wabigooni students presented the following description of the school at Rossbrook House in celebration of the program’s 25th anniversary.

W is for wonderful. All the kids at Wi Wabigooni are wonderful because we are all friends.

I is for interesting. Wi Wabigooni is interesting because we get to do a lot of interesting things like painting, reading and writing about animals, working hard and math activities.

W is for wish. Kids wish to stay at Wi Wabigooni School because we like to learn. We wish to stay forever.

A is for awesome. Wi Wabigooni has the most awesome volunteers. They read to us, cook for us, come on field trips with us, listen to us and talk to us.

B is for basketball. Basketball is fun to play. It gives us exercise. We made a whole bunch of friends. We have new jerseys.

I is for inspiring. Wi Wabigooni inspires us to work hard, to give speeches, to dream about the future and to learn new stuff.

G is for guitars. We have 6 guitars and we have lessons every week with our teacher Skender Sefa. He is a great teacher. It is fun playing guitars, because we learn cool songs.

O is for outstanding. Wi Wabigooni teachers are outstanding because they teach us new stuff. Sister and Joe and Sheila are the best teachers forever. They help us with our work and we can help each other too. The teachers are nice and the kids have respect.

O is for Open House at Rossbrook. Open House is when everybody gets together. People buy arts and crafts. We make money for food and special outings. Sometimes there’s a draw and we have food and we laugh and giggle.

N is for non-stop. Wi Wabigooni laughs non-stop. Wi Wabigooni works non-stop. Wi Wabigooni likes to eat non-stop. Wi Wabigooni welcomes friends non-stop.

I is for important. The school is important because we want to learn and Wi Wabigooni students stay for a long time. We can move up to different groups when we get better at our work.

S is for staff and students. The staff helps us learn things like math and reading. And they protect us from crossing the streets. The students are fun to play with. We are hard working because we want to learn.

C is for celebrations. We love celebrations. We celebrate birthdays, Christmas, and all the holidays. We like to celebrate each other because we like each other.

H is for Home Reading. We do home reading every night. Then we bring it to school and read for a teacher. Home reading is good because we can learn to read better.

O is for opportunities. At Wi Wabigooni we get lots of opportunities to do things that we have dreamt of like camps, corn maze, Oak Hammock Marsh and giving speeches. All the opportunities we get make us smart and help us get our education.

O is for outrageous. Wi Wabigooni is outrageous because we get to do really fun things. We tease each other and we like to laugh a lot.

L is for learning. We like learning because we have lots of time to think. The teachers make us laugh lots. They make us happy. We love it when the teachers help us learn how to do research.
